Puck Verkade and Thomas van Linge are currently our artists-in-residence at Kunstwerk Kolderveen. On Friday 2 October at 7.00 pm, we’ll be opening our doors for a talk about their work and a screening of their film Uprooted (7 mins, 2023–2025).

Puck Verkade (1987) is a Dutch artist and arts educator based in Berlin. She creates installations, sculptures, and videos that draw viewers into surreal, cartoon-like worlds where comedy and critique intertwine.
Playful, subversive and toying with the absurd, Puck Verkade’s films awaken a magical world that lures the viewer in and then confuses them, making the undertone of the work haunting and uncomfortable. Through a surrealist gaze she revises archetypal narratives that shape the social systems we have created for ourselves. The wider themes Verkade engages with in her work conjure up the complex relations between the inner and outer worlds, ranging from the questions of accountability and complicity, to reproductive rights, bodily agency and consent. All rather layered subjects that she approaches with sincere curiosity and humorist sensibility.
Thomas van Linge (Haarlem, 1989) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses sculpture, installation, sound, and experimental publishing. He studied at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (BA, 2011), briefly at Kunsthochschule Weissensee in Berlin (2010), and obtained his MA Fine Art at the Royal College of Art in London (2017). He was artist in residence at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, supported by the Mondriaan Fund. Besides a visual practice, Van Linge operates deep within the infrastructure of electronic music. He co-founded and runs the labels Plafond (formerly BAKK, founded 2013), RUBBER (2015), and recently founded Bitumen (2025), with worldwide distribution. Under the pseudonym Randstad he produces and performs internationally. Tar is a new pseudonym associated with the new label Bitumen. He presented radio programs on NTS, Intergalactic FM, and Red Light Radio, and curated the now archived podcast Rubber Tijd. These are parallel lines of inquiry with the club as site of collective experience, the labels and music as distribution apparatus, going hand in hand with his sculptural investigations.
